Prayer Pointers - Week 8

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
-Matt 6:33,NIV

Priority. David, he made about 4~5 times more reference to God than to Goliath. Why? Because David he had God as first in his life, even when he faced Goliath, David's priority never changed. Maybe tt was also y he defeated Goliath.

Are we making God 4~5 times more important than our giants? Do we focus on God 4~5 times more? Or do we focus on our giants, our exams, our projects, our desires, even our frens more? Lately, God has been testing me, do I put God first and b4 everything? 12th May - Jackie Pullinger Conference and Flag Day. I either had to change shift or miss either. But if i change shift, I would cause some inconvienience to my fren who chose de same shift as me. But God was 1st, and i had to change shift. 26th May was STAR Encounter and de Japan trip. I really liked to go to Japan and visit animation factory and science stuff but God was 1st, and I had to miss this trip.

If God tests u, will u oso do tt and put God 1st? Will u seek his kingdom and righteousness 1st and give God ur life? Will u focus on God more than ur giant. Max Lucado said, "Focus on ur giant, u will fall, but focus on God, and the giants will."

Prayer Pointers this week:
- Pray for God to take his place as first in your life
- Pray for victory over 'giants' by putting God 1st and tt victory would be given to us.
- Pray for salvation and revival in 1P and 1Q
- Pray for more classes to come and merge that there will be more power and spiritual climate change in RI

Prayer Pointers - Week 7

For these few weeks, I felt God wanted me to share abt de story of David and how he beat Goliath.

Saul replied, "You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a boy, and he has been a fighting man from his youth."

But David said to Saul, "Your servant has been keeping his father's sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine."
Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you."

-1 Samuel 17:33-37,NIV

David is young, he's only a boy, and his enemy is a giant hu hav beaten many adults and has been a fighting man frm his youth. Aren't we also young? Aren't we all just children/juz became teens? And our enemy is Satan and de demons, Satan and his demons are obviously more powerful than us. Satan even beat adults, so are we able to fight our giant?

There is 1 thing tt u hav to noe, we are not fighting Satan alone. We are fighting with God's favour. How did David react to what Saul had said? Now, David he had faith in the Lord because he knows that the Lord will deliver him from Goliath. We hav to hav our faith in God. How? David, he made reference to his past victories that God had helped him win. Have your prayer been answered b4? Do u believe that God will answer these prayers of bringing revival and salvation in our classes?

This faith muz of course be backed up with action. Dun say I believe God will answer my prayers and dun pray. That doesn't make sense. Though we are young, like David, God's favour is with us, and tt's what matters, becuz onli god can defeat satan and his devils, not adults without God's favour. That's what we can learn frm David this wk.

Prayer Pointers:
-Pray for faith and courage and God's favour in winning this spiritual warfare.
-Pray for more spiritual atmosphere change in RI that more pple will be more open.
-Pray for salvation and revival in 1P and 1Q
-Pray that God will lead us into victory

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,

-Isaiah 61:1-2,NIV

oops....sry guyz 4 de v early prayer pointers, i tot 2dae was weekend. treat this as the prayerpointers for next wk, k? i doubt i'll b sending anymore out for next wk, k?

"Come," he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"

Matthew 14:29-31, NIV

Through this passage we know that when God asks us to come, first, we must have FAITH!
Do not be afraid of the 'wind' or you will be sinking. Fear = Faith in wrong places. Peter he was afraid and he began to sink because he did not have faith that the Lord could do miracles. Then, Jesus said, "You of little faith," Do not worry for even when you are sinking, God is there to catch you when you cry out to him.

Last Sunday, God gave me a prompt in my heart as the pastor talks about reaping what we sow. God told me that we have to sow seeds of FAITH! He gave me a vision, to see the whole school become saved, to break salvation and revival into the school. But that is reaping, what we have to sow are seeds of faith. Like last week, I shared that the seeds have to grow in good conditions, having good soil and not on a rock or surrounded by thorns. But there's another important aspect of growing well, that is the kind of seeds we sow.

Let us have faith that the Lord is here to help us and to guide us, let us rest in the Lord's faithfulness, for he keeps his promises. Now, let us claim this promise:

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.
-2 Corinthians 2:14, NIV

Let us this week then pray for:
- God leading us in triumphal procession as we spread the gospel and be a testimony for the Lord.
- Sowing seeds of faith in good conditions, and that the Lord will let it grow well.
- Reaping a good harvest for the Lord in RI.
- Never letting our love and compassion for the lost grow cold or the vision to break revival and salvation die.
- Salvation in 1P AND 1Q.
- Our fellow classmates will open their hearts to recieve the Lord this Easter
- Open hearts as we evangelise(now[on de forum] and next time)

Started in Febuary 2007, Prayer Pointers is about...
Prayer Pointers is about GOD
Prayer is a communication between us and God. As we pray and request for salvation and revival, we are serving God's heart! As we fast, we tell God that we are serious that we want to see his power in our lives and in our school! We tell God that we want his kingdom to come and his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven! This Prayer Pointers was created for serving God and for his approval and not Man's! It is also for rememberance and the revelation of the cross that we serve out of our gratitude.

Prayer Pointers is about US
Prayer Pointers is like a weekly devotional, as we learn about God's word and it's application in our lives. Prayer Pointers is for us to grow together, to work together as one group to bring salvation and revival and in the midst of this, we grow spiritually! We grow more in faith as we see God's strength through our weaknesses! We grow more in love having a heart of compassion! We grow more in hope as we continue praying for our classes and school!

Prayer Pointers is about THE LOST
Prayer Pointers was started with a purpose in mind - to serve the lost. We want to break salvation and revival in each and every person, for God cares for each and every single person, no matter whether they are our enemies or friends. God's heart is for those who are lost, and we also have compassion for them! That's our driving force - the heart of compassion. And that's why we are praying together all for the salvation and revival of the lost.
