Week 6 Prayer Pointers

While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up.6Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown." When he said this, he called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
His disciples asked him what this parable meant. He said, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, " 'though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.'
"This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. Quite a few of us are in the second category, without any roots. If God tests you, will you still stand firm in him? If he doesn't bless you to test you for a while, will you still trust in him?

Also, I realise that there are many of us who are 'choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures'[in our context, many exams, projects all at de same time] that we do not lay all de burdens, all our worries at the foot of the cross. When we get choked by these worries, we do not mature or grow spiritually, we do not become righteous, we do not have the passion to serve the Lord.

--Please try to read Matthew 6:25-34, seek God's kingdom and his righteousness first, and you need not worry about troubles, lay it all down at the foot of the cross.

Prayer Pointers this week:
- Pray that God will let you be firmly rooted in him
- Pray that God will take away all these worries as you lay them down at the foot of the cross, so that there will be a new passion for serving the Lord.
- Pray for a noble and good heart, to be like a seed on good soil.
- Pray that you will be righteous, being a blessing and a testimony to others
- Pray for salvation in 1P and through 1P

Week 5

Week 5
"For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does." - Psalms 33:4, NIV

Yes, we do serve a faithful god, and we can trust that he keeps his promises. He has many promises in the bible for us to claim...

"How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight" - Deuteronomy 32:30a
There is so much power in numbers, one man can chase thousand, two, TEN THOUSAND! What about three, four, five....? That is why each and every person praying is very important. Easter/Good Friday is two weeks ahead, it is a good time to share the gospel/bring some friends to church. So let us ALL pray for salvation in the coming weeks.

Prayer Pointers:
-Pray for the Easter/Good Friday that we will have the courage to invite some to church/share the gospel.
-Pray for open hearts in 1P, teachable hearts that we will win for the Lord.
-Pray for salvation and revival in 1P and through 1P
-Pray for victory in all arenas, including examinations(especially for the coming week, English, Chinese(and French/other 3rd lang) for some...

Week 4 Prayer Pointers

Week 4

"He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" - Romans 8:32, NIV

For salvation, revival or anything, we have to ask God. Ask and you will recieve... But what can we ask 4? We can ask 4 something BIG, because the Lord will graciously give us all things, but it must not be 4 wrong motives.(James 4:3)


"For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." - Matthew 8:20, NIV

This is the importance of coming together to pray, not only prayer pointers that we pray at our own time. Thus, as soon as possible, we would move to having prayer meetings in a suitable time and place.

This week, let's ask God for:
1) A venue and a suitable time to hold prayer meetings
2) The prayer meetings system will actually work and bring more souls to know Christ.
3) More hearts opened to know Jesus, bringing salvation and revival to 1P and then thru 1P.
4) More passion for serving the Lord, more compassion for the lost souls, so that we will do it willingly and with initative, not as a chore

I realise one thing that lets christans actually 'run to the lord'. That is an encounter with God. For example, Abraham encountered God before he left his country and went on to the land God will show him(Gen 12:1). Moses encountered God(the burning bush) b4 he led de Israelited out of Egypt(Exodus 3). If there's one thing christians need b4 'running to the lord' is going deep in his love.
Personally, I have encountered the Lord last yr in de Encounter and that 2 days 1 night was the starting point 4 my new journey to serve the Lord. Last yr(end of yr), I shared de gospel in class becuz i wanted to serve de Lord. Now, de prayer pointers also becuz i wanna serve de lord and 'run to him'. But all that starts with an encounter with God, filling yourself to the fullest with his love.
Ask 4 a breakthrough in ur relationship, becuz b4 i went 4 de encounter session, me and my cell grp ldr was praying 4 a breakthru in de relationship between me and God and de prayer was answered in de encounter weekend.

Week 3 Prayer Pointers

So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. - Zechariah 4:6, NIV

I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. - 1 Corinthians 3:6, NIV

For revival and salvation to come, I realise it is not by our might, not by our power but by God that all these can come. Sometimes, I think that if I have de courage, de persuasion...etc., then my frens will get to know christ, but tt is wrong. Only God can make salvation and revival to come to 1P. That's why we are praying, and not trying to improve our speech/ sharing de gospel or practicing in front of a mirror. Sure God will use these natural talents or give u spiritual gifts, but that is thru God tt ur frens will b touched by de love of God. There is power in numbers, so we will be praying together for our class and our school.

But let us never lose sight of God, let us never lose sight and continue to 'run to him', to his words of truth. Let us not get distracted as we serve the heart of God, and always remember that it is not my might, not my power, but by the Spirit of God.

Let us looking forward to that day, at the end of the race, when God tell u," Well done, my son. I am proud of u." Continue running to him, never losing sight and remember he will always be there for u.

Prayer Pointers this week:
- Pray that you will never lose sight of God, that de purpose and will of God will be done, that you will continue to 'run to him'.
- Pray that God will work in our class, praying 4 revival and salvation in 1P and thru 1P, for it is onli by him tt there will b salvation
- Pray that there will be open hearts ready to recieve Jesus Christ
- Pray that there will be an improvement in our studies in the next term

A young man is walking along the ocean and sees abeach on which thousands and thousands of starfish have washed ashore. Further along he sees an old man, walking slowly and stooping often, picking up one starfish after another and tossing each one gently into the ocean. "Why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?," he asks."Because the sun is up and the tide is going out and if I don't throw them further in they will die.""But, old man, don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and starfish all along it! You can't possibly save them all, you can't even save one-tenth of them. In fact, even if you work all day, your efforts won't make any difference at all."The old man listened calmly and then bent down to pickup another starfish and throw it into the sea. "It made a difference to that one."

Many of us have heard that story b4, but when we think - What difference can we make to the world by sharing the gospel? There will still be tons of people whom we cannot reach out to. What difference can we make? Won't our efforts make no difference?, and decides not to share the gospel and 'waste effort', remember this: "Whoever you share the gospel with, you are giving that person a chance to have eternal life, a chance for his life to be changed by the grace and love of God. It will make a difference to that person."

WEEK 2 - GOING DEEP

and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:19, NIV

This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another...Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.1 John 3:11,18, NIV

Firstly, we have to be filled with the love of God before we can share our love in actions to our frens...etc. This is 'sitting tight' beside Jesus, filling yourself with his amazing love that surpasses knowledge. Jesus, our Lord and King, came down from the highest place to die on the cross. Why? Because he loved us so much. When he died on the cross, he thought of all of us, above all, above all the pain and suffering...that was how much he loved us. But we need to open our heart to accept his love, that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Remember to 'submerge' yourself in his love, going deep is the very 1st step to victory.

When you are filled with his love, you will have this new passion for serving him...

But we have to remember, we are not servants, we are his sons.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him! John 3:1

Prayer Pointers this week:
- Ask for a breakthrough in the relationship between you and God.
- Pray that God will fill your heart with his love and touch your heart in a fresh way.
- Pray for victory in your personal life, family and marketplace.
- Pray that whatever happens(if we got low marks 4 exams), we will still give thanks and continue to serve the Lord.
- Pray for salvation and revival in 1P and through 1P
- Pray for love for our 'brothers' that we will do it with action and not just words.

Prayer Pointers is about GOD
Prayer is a communication between us and God. As we pray and request for salvation and revival, we are serving God's heart! As we fast, we tell God that we are serious that we want to see his power in our lives and in our school! We tell God that we want his kingdom to come and his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven! This Prayer Pointers was created for serving God and for his approval and not Man's! It is also for rememberance and the revelation of the cross that we serve out of our gratitude.

Prayer Pointers is about US
Prayer Pointers is like a weekly devotional, as we learn about God's word and it's application in our lives. Prayer Pointers is for us to grow together, to work together as one group to bring salvation and revival and in the midst of this, we grow spiritually! We grow more in faith as we see God's strength through our weaknesses! We grow more in love having a heart of compassion! We grow more in hope as we continue praying for our classes and school!

Prayer Pointers is about THE LOST
Prayer Pointers was started with a purpose in mind - to serve the lost. We want to break salvation and revival in each and every person, for God cares for each and every single person, no matter whether they are our enemies or friends. God's heart is for those who are lost, and we also have compassion for them! That's our driving force - the heart of compassion. And that's why we are praying together all for the salvation and revival of the lost.
