week 23

Prayer Pointers this week

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. - John 16:33, NIV

For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

-1 John 2:16-17, NIV

This world brings about many troubles and makes us worried about our lives – Are we going to get GPA 4.0? Are we going to pass our test? What will my friends think of me? These worries are brought by the world. These may be ‘urgent’ but it leads us away from the ‘important’. The ‘important’ is the will of God! Soon, all the world and its desires will pass away. We should be more focused on the eternal reward rather than the immediate reward!

How do we take away all the troubles of the world then? Jesus said that ‘in Me you may have peace’. We have to commit ourselves to walking in the power of the Holy Spirit and submit to him such that we can be ‘in him’. Then, there will be peace for Jesus has overcome the world!

Let us focus more on the will of God than on the world and its desires.

Prayer Pointer this week:

- Pray that we can walk more in the Holy Spirit and that we will submit to him.

- Pray that we will focus more on the will of God than on the world and its desires

- Pray for salvation in 1D, 1L, 1P and 1Q

- Pray for the blessings to remove the work of the devil.

week 22

Prayer Pointers – Community

May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples.

-Gen 28:3, NIV, emphasis added.

God’s mission for us cannot be done only be one person, there has to be a community. God will continue to bless us and make us fruitful, increasing the numbers until there is a community. That’s the true importance of community for God’s miracles can only be seen where the people of God is as a community.

Last week when I was doing prayer walk around RI and RJC with my fren, I realized one thing – how important it is to have more than one person with you to do the work of God. Nobody can do it alone. There has to be a community. These can be seen in the bible.

For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

- Matt 18:20, NIV

How could one man chase a thousand,
or two put ten thousand to flight,

- Deut 32:30, NIV

How do we live in communities? We have to pray together, we have to have fellowship with each other, we have to encourage each other. As we do the work of God, we have to grow TOGETHER before we can accomplish the will of God. We have to get together in Jesus’ name for Jesus to be with us. We need to be together to see greater miracles – 1 men chase 1000, 2 men put 10000 to flight. That’s the power in numbers. God wants us to be together!

Prayer Pointers this week:

- Pray that we will grow together in a community

- Pray for miracles to happen as we grow as one.

- Pray for salvation and revival in 1D, 1L, 1P and 1Q

- Pray for more open hearts in this season of blessings.

Prayer Pointers Week 21

But take this staff in your hand so you can perform miraculous signs with it. – Exodus 4:17, NIV

Moses had a staff in his hand as his job required him to have it. Moses used something normal and natural to do miracles! Moses just lifted up his staff, miracles happened! Wouldn’t it be amazing to actually have these kind of staff?

But is it only Moses that has a ‘miracle staff’? David had a ‘miracle sling and stone’ that defeated Goliath when thousands of warriors could not defeat him. What if just anyone was to take a sling and stone and fight a great army warrior that defeated many? Would he be able to defeat him? Very unlikely. What’s the difference then?

God told Moses in Exodus 4 to use his staff as something that can do miracles. God asked Moses to use what he had then! How about us? Our weapons are the gifts that God has given us, whether in our marketplace or anywhere. Even if they do not seem like they’re gifts, like Moses just had a normal staff, they can still be used by God. They are given to you for a purpose, so don’t misuse it!

Prayer Pointers this week:

- Pray that God will show you what your ‘staff’ is.

- Pray that God will guide you in faith to do miracles with that ‘staff’

- Pray for salvation in revival in 1D, 1L, 1P and 1Q

- Pray for the spiritual climate to be changed.

Prayer Pointers - Changing the Spiritual Climate

For this milestone 20 weeks, I will be sharing more of Ed Silvoso’s Marketplace Transformation Conference this few weeks, for we are marketplace ministers, ready to bless others!

“When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.
"When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.'
-Luke 10: 5-9, NIV

If we were to study the book of Luke, we’ll find that from chapters 1-9, there is a very hostile spiritual climate. However, in chapters 11 onwards, there is a much more favorable spiritual climate. What caused the change? Luke 10! What is in Luke 10 that caused the change of the spiritual climate? The event was Jesus sent out the seventy two. But was it just about sending out the seventy-two? No! Jesus gave them specific instructions. What were those instructions?

1) Bless - “When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.'

2) Fellowship - Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you

3) Minister to felt needs - Heal the sick who are there

4) Proclaim - tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.'

What have we done with this order? We have reversed it! We cannot go share the gospel first, then minister to felt needs, then have fellowship with them, then bless them! It does not work that way. This would not change the spiritual climate, unless it is done correctly. When we change the spiritual climate, there will be more lives transformed by God!

He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.

Luke 10:2, NIV

Let us start by blessing people. Fellowship with your friends, find out their needs. Pray for them and then proclaim the kingdom of God coming to them. The harvest is plentiful! If you do not act on your faith and do not overcome all the fear and shyness, you cannot reap the plentiful harvest! God’s time has come for churches around Singapore, God’s time has come for our school! Let us invite the Lord to become Lord of our school!

Prayer Pointers this week:

- Pray for empowerment and courage to bless, have fellowship, minister and proclaim to others

- Pray for the Lord to become the Lord of the school

- Pray for salvation to work in 1D, 1L, 1P and 1Q.

- Pray for Satan’s works to be destroyed in the students as we bless others

Prayer Pointers - Week 19

God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. - Psalm 53:2, NIV

For day after day they seek me out;
they seem eager to know my ways,
as if they were a nation that does what is right
and has not forsaken the commands of its God.
They ask me for just decisions
and seem eager for God to come near them.
- Isaiah 58:2, NIV

Seeking God is a very important thing in the Christian life, it allows you to throw away all hindrances, it allows you to throw away all distractions, all sin that entangles you. It allows you to continue to persevere in serving God. Why? Because you would do anything to seek God! You would not seek Man's approval, you seek God's approval! That's mainly the reason why people are fearful to share the gospel or go bless people. We seek Man's approval more than God's approval! We think more of what others think of us than what God thinks of us!

What does God look down from heaven to look at? People who understand that God's agenda is more important than our agenda. People who seek God above all and choose the important and not the urgent. People who understand that whatever we do for our agenda now only has a reward for a period of time and will fade away, but what we do for God's agenda has its eternal reward waiting. Which do you want?

Would it matter if others think badly of you if God would be proud of you? You make the decision!

Prayer Pointers this week:
- Pray for a heart to seek God always
- Pray for all the hindrances of fear, distractions, sin...etc. to be thrown away as we set our hearts on seeking the Lord
- Pray for salvation and revival in 1D, 1L, 1P and 1Q
- Pray that the blessings would remove all the blindfold that it has on non-believers

Prayer Pointers- Week 18

Prayer Pointers- Week 18

These few weeks I'll be sharing about Joseph(not me) and the lessons learnt from him....

Lesson learnt from Joseph - Always Victorious, Even in Suffering

..."It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering."

- Genesis 41:52,NIV

Joseph was facing a lot of suffering, being plotted to be killed by his brothers, being thrown into the dungeon... But in the land of suffering, if Joseph were to just give up doing the work of God where he was placed for that purpose - interpreting dreams, then he would have not been fruitful in the land of his suffering. But Joseph interpreted the dreams of the cupbearer and the baker, before interpreting the dreams of the Pharaoh and then become fruitful to be in charge of Egypt. Joseph might not have seen his purpose at that place at that time but he hang on to his faith. He did not disbelieve God because God brought him to a land of suffering!

Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
-Rom 5:1-5,NIV

Whenever there is a famine, tree roots are forced to drive deeper into the soil to find water. If you are facing suffering, make it an effort to drive deeper into spiritual soil to continue finding the presence of God in your life. God has a reason to bring you to a time of suffering. He wants you to be fruitful! He wants you to accomplish the purpose he set out for you! So rejoice knowing that he does it so that you would have character!

Prayer Pointers this week:
-Pray for perserverance to hang on and that the spiritual roots would grow deeper even in times of suffering
-Pray for wisdom that God will show you his purpose for you even in times of suffering
-Pray for salvation and revival in 1D, 1L, 1P and 1Q
-Pray for a good school term with more open hearts as we bless people

Prayer Pointers- Week 17

Announcement: Hi guys, e '100k campaign' is not exactly e '100k campaign' and we dun really hav to follow e things abt it, but it's a time for us to bless others becuz blessings remove e blindfold tt Satan has on non-believers spiritual eyes. If u can only bless 2 pple, it's ok. If u need more time, it's ok. God will still be proud of you if you try your best, so take the step of faith and go forth and bless pple. This is your calling right at this time.

Prayer Pointers:

Respond to e calling and purpose God has 4 u Then she instructed him to say to Mordecai, "All the king's officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned the king has but one law: that he be put to death. The only exception to this is for the king to extend the gold scepter to him and spare his life. But thirty days have passed since I was called to go to the king."

When Esther's words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back this answer: "Do not think that because you are in the king's house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?"

Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: "Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish."

- Esther 4:10-16, NIV

Esther had a calling to respond to, she was to beg for mercy for all the Jews and save them and Esther was afraid. She would have a high risk of being put to death. But Mordecai, he told Esther that she had a calling, that's why she came to such a royal position at this time. God planned for her to be there when Esther didn't know that all the royalty and being promoted to queen was 4 god to use her. And Mordecai also said, "For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish." What he is talking about is that God will use someone else and bring relief and deliverance for the Jews, but because if Esther did not respond to the calling, because if Esther remained silent, then she losed out! When we do not respond to the calling, the opportunity that God has given us, God does not lose out, we do! God has placed us where we are for a purpose, for Esther it was to save the Jews.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.- Rom 8:28, NIV

We are called according to his purpose and God is working for the good of us. He plans every little detail for us to respond to the calling. If we don't respond to it, we lose out, not God! We lose out maybe in not being able to see God's mighty works in our lives and it working though us, we lose out maybe in missing the opportunities that God would have given us, we can lose out in many ways. Do not lose out and respond to the calling.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. -Heb 12:1, NIV

Let us run the race marked out for us and respond to our calling! Remember that where you are now is where God wants you to be!

Prayer Pointers this week:
- Pray that the calling and the purpose would be made clear to us
- Pray for courage to respond to the calling that God has given us and persevere throwing off all that hinders us.
- Pray for salvation and revival in 1D, 1L, 1P and 1Q
- Pray for open hearts as we go forth and bless pple that the spiritual atmosphere would change and the blindfold would be removed

Started in Febuary 2007, Prayer Pointers is about...
Prayer Pointers is about GOD
Prayer is a communication between us and God. As we pray and request for salvation and revival, we are serving God's heart! As we fast, we tell God that we are serious that we want to see his power in our lives and in our school! We tell God that we want his kingdom to come and his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven! This Prayer Pointers was created for serving God and for his approval and not Man's! It is also for rememberance and the revelation of the cross that we serve out of our gratitude.

Prayer Pointers is about US
Prayer Pointers is like a weekly devotional, as we learn about God's word and it's application in our lives. Prayer Pointers is for us to grow together, to work together as one group to bring salvation and revival and in the midst of this, we grow spiritually! We grow more in faith as we see God's strength through our weaknesses! We grow more in love having a heart of compassion! We grow more in hope as we continue praying for our classes and school!

Prayer Pointers is about THE LOST
Prayer Pointers was started with a purpose in mind - to serve the lost. We want to break salvation and revival in each and every person, for God cares for each and every single person, no matter whether they are our enemies or friends. God's heart is for those who are lost, and we also have compassion for them! That's our driving force - the heart of compassion. And that's why we are praying together all for the salvation and revival of the lost.
